Curriculum Design: Bridging Theory & Industry Practice

Philosophy: Designing for the Future

My approach to curriculum design is rooted in the belief that academic rigor must be balanced with practical, real-world application. I specialize in developing high-impact, graduate-level coursework that prepares learners to navigate rapidly evolving technological landscapes. By blending historical context with emerging trends, I help students move beyond technical proficiency toward strategic mastery. Please note that due to copyright and NDA reasons I am not able to showcase all of my work including other courses I have co-designed.

Primary Case Study: ICT 4700 | AI Concepts, Capabilities, and Tools

Platform: Designed using Articulate 360 Rise with a combination of Canvas Instructure.

While I have co-created numerous graduate-level courses, I have chosen to highlight this 4 credit course as a flagship example of my design-to-delivery methodology. Developed from the ground up for the University of Denver’s Information and Communications Technology (ICT) program, this 4-credit course represents a comprehensive response to the Artificial Intelligence revolution.

  • Comprehensive Scope: The curriculum spans the history of AI to the current state of Generative AI, teaching students how to operationalize these tools across various industries.

  • Critical Discourse: I integrated high-level modules on Governance, Ethics, Cryptocurrency, and other AI topics, encouraging students to navigate the controversial and ethical gray areas of modern technology.

  • Innovative Pedagogy: This online asynchronous course utilizes a curated LinkedIn Learning Pathway for each module, connecting students directly with insights from global industry experts to supplement core academic content.

The Design-to-Instruction Lifecycle

I am uniquely positioned as both the Course Architect and an Incoming Adjunct Faculty member. After designing the curriculum in 2023, I will be transitioning into the instructional role for this course in late 2026. This dual perspective allows me to:

  • Iterate Based on Insight: Refine content based on the evolving AI landscape before stepping into the classroom.

  • Champion Appropriate Use: Empower students to identify business problems suitable for AI solutions while navigating the dynamic tradeoffs of the technology.

  • Ensure Alignment: Maintain a direct thread between the original learning outcomes and the actual student experience during delivery.

In alignment with Universal Design for Learning (UDL), I create multimodal assessments that move beyond traditional formats to accommodate diverse learning styles. By balancing interactivity with digital compliance, I ensure that engaging knowledge checks remain a gateway to learning rather than a barrier to access for students using screen readers or alternative navigation tools. The following quiz below was designed using Articulate 360 Rise, I have also utilized H5P to design assessments.
